- to
participate in the Rowing Experience Program you must be able to swim 100m in light clothing, and be reasonably fit.
What to wear - Please wear shorts (not loose fitting as they could get caught in the slides), T-shirt (not too loose either) shoes you do not mind getting wet (preferably thongs, crocs or shoes). Bring water, hat and sunscreen and a pair of old socks to wear in the boat.
Rowing is a good way of developing a new skill and make new friends, come try rowing - you can learn to row and then train to compete in regattas in the Central District area, Lake Macquarie, Duckenfield (Morpeth), Taree, Port Macquarie and onto Sydney. Word of warning it isn't as easy as it looks - enquire via our 'contact page'.
Newcastle
Rowing Club is enthusiastic about introducing the young and the not so
young from the local community to Rowing! No experience is necessary,
however fitness, enthusiasm, potential and a desire to compete at
regattas are highly regarded attributes. You
will need to enjoy early starts as you will see the sun come up every
morning you train.
